Uxbridge Library undergoes major improvements

Millions of pounds has been spent on improving the quality of the library at Uxbridge recently. The local authority has now invested around £10 million in developing what its libraries have to offer.

Ray Puddifoot, leader of the council, has said:

“While other councils are closing libraries or reducing opening times, with the re-opening of Uxbridge Library we will have rebuilt or refurbished every one of ours – the only council in the country to do so.”

Now boasting a wide range of features over its six floors, Uxbridge Library has extensive floor space, computers that have Wi-Fi access, a space for the consumption of food and drink, and a local studies hub. Uxbridge Library was closed during March 2013 so that the renovations could go ahead. Hillingdon Council then provided temporary premises for library services at The Pavilions
