Roots encourages entrepreneurship in Westminster

June 26, 2015

Dragon’s Den star Levi Roots has recently attended Kingsway College in Westminster to help inspire young entrepreneurs.

Working on behalf of the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, Mr Roots judged a cooking contest and gave helpful advice to potential businesspeople, who could use printing services in Ruislip Manor for promotional purposes if any projects get off the ground. Mr Roots said:

“Giving young people a firm grounding in business, with practical experience of what it takes to run a successful company, is vital. It’s this kind of education that can really make a difference to their future prospects.”

Mr Roots has acknowledged that opportunities are not evenly distributed between different communities. Nonetheless, he recommended that young people can make the best of their situation via hard work. He also suggested that individuals should establish what priorities they want to stick with.

Since appearing on TV show Dragon’s Den, Mr Roots has reportedly earned millions from his business. He has also evolved into a celebrity, with this status reinforced by the time he has spent attending the carnival in Notting Hill.

It was back in 2007 when Mr Roots first came to prominence on the entrepreneurial programme. Peter Jones opted to invest in Reggae Reggae Sauce after an unusual pitch was made by Mr Roots. The entrepreneur, who is originally from Jamaica, came to live in the UK during 1969.
