A new building is being put up in the grounds of Aylward Primary School (APS) at Pangbourne Drive.
A formal ceremony was held to mark the start of the building process at APS. The event, at which the turf was broken, included building contractors, local dignitaries, pupils and staff. When the work is completed, it could be highlighted in promotional leaflets produced by marketing services based in Ruislip Manor.
Clive Westall, Headteacher of APS, told the Harrow Times:
“The whole school community is very excited at seeing their new school building being constructed right in front of them on the current school site. We are fortunate to have such large grounds, which means that we can carry on as normal whilst the new school is being built.”
Westall added that the initiative should add to the learning opportunities available at the school. Contractors Kier Construction, local politician Bob Blackman, and Harrow Mayor Councillor Krishna Suresh heard Westall say just how eager the educational institution is to take advantage of fresh learning opportunities.
It has been reported that all the building work at the primary school in Stanmore is due to be finished within the first half of 2017. Resources for the project have been provided from the Education Funding Authority Priority Schools Building Programme. Almost £4.5bn has been placed in this funding stream.
