A route around Ruislip Lido has been opened which permits visitors to learn about the mysteries of the planets.

Hillingdon Council has joined forces with the West of London Astronomical Society. The organisations have cooperated with a firm called Glyphics. The outcome of the collaboration includes a solar system display. Those who walk around Ruislip Lido will now be able to learn about the different planets. Promotional products from Ruislip Manor could be used to promote the lido further.

Councillor Ray Puddifoot, the head of the local authority, said:

“This new interactive walk is the latest initiative in the council’s Lido improvement programme which we hope residents of all ages will enjoy.”

Councillor Puddifoot made clear that the initiative is part of a wider push to upgrade the lido. He explained that the lido, which belongs to the council, will be improved further in terms of facilities and access going forward.

People walking around the display of the solar system have the opportunity to engage with the project via their mobile devices. A smartphone user now has the chance to listen to an audio guide.

Individuals can take advantage of the trail to look at photographs taken from space. They can also examine pictures of space which have been taken from locations around Earth. Extra data can be processed if participants take the time to study the various display boards.
